Kicking Colds Quickly <3

I had a funny feeling while I was assisting a retreat for a friend recently that I just might catch a cold from one of her participants. I was seated next to a woman whose sinuses were so clogged up, they sounded like a freight train each time she inhaled.  I tried to keep my vibe up as I had a busy weekend ahead.  But by the time Monday hit, I felt a sore throat coming on. (of course I tested for Covid, and thankfully it wasn’t that.)

At the same time, which never happens, my assistant had caught a cold.  I was chuckling that we were making a great team that week, both being under the weather.

My assistant asked me one of the days we were both unwell what remedies I was using to get better, as she loves to know what other people do.  That one question catalyzed a whole blog post in my head because I realized I don’t really share with others out loud what I do.

And I thought, maybe if I share this with you all, it may help you. Now remember that I am not a doctor and I cannot prescribe anything to anyone. But these tips might save you from weeks of misery and help you get back on track within 2-3 days.

So without further ado, here are my tips and tricks.

(I am not getting any financial kickback for any of these recommendations. It’s just what I use to help me feel better fast.)

1. At the first sign of a sore throat, I load up on Nuun.  What is Nuun you ask? Well it basically is a lot like Airborne tablets that you drop in your water and are filled with all sorts of helpful immune boosting vitamins and herbs.  I like the 1:2 punch of having the vitamins but also a giant cup of water which they dissolve in. I usually take at least two of these on the first day when there is any sign of a cold. You can read more about them here:  https://www.nuunlife.com

2. I get some rest ASAP. And would advise the same for you.   I don’t care if you need to hire a babysitter or get your partner to take a day off, but find a way to rest as soon as possible. And definitely call out of work if you can. Let your energy come way down, so your body can catch up and heal.

I keep hearing that silly children’s book : “Go the F*ck to Sleep” narrated by Samuel L. Jackson ringing in my head as I give you this tip. Which, if you haven’t heard it, the laughter alone from this could help you feel better if you are reading this when you have a cold. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=teIbh8hFQos I apologize for the profanity but this is so funny!

3.  One of the next things I do is start on homeopathic remedies that my friend Christine Cronin, who has her doctorate in natural health introduced me to long ago. The brand Physica has been an awesome support to me over the years and helps the symptoms go away quickly, at least for me and my husband.  These come in a liquid form & are also added to water. Some of my favorites over the years have been Rehydration, which helps you intake your hydration even more; Viru-tox which is a great anti-viral; Bacteria-tox for anti-bacterial , Sinus-Tone for any sinus congestion and LymphTone to help flush the lymph.  Because we had a bunch on hand I did a little of the Viru-tox and the Bacteria-tox and Rehydration.

Within a couple hours I felt relief.  My sinuses didn’t get very congested at all because I caught this early so I skipped the Sinus-Tone this time.  You can order these remedies directly through Christine and consult with her as well at: www.Satyawellness.com or email her at Christine@satyawellness.com . They will last you a long time and won’t break the bank.

4. I then put some essential oils on my feet. Thieves is my go to remedy, and I get the version from Revive Essential Oils called : “Immunity Boost.” I usually use about 5-10 drops on the bottoms of my feet 1-2 times a day.  You can find that here: https://www.revive-eo.com/product/immunity-boost-essential-oil-blend/ . Essential oils immediately raise your vibration as well so they are a great way to support your body, as your vibration can dip when you get ill.

5. Next, I will try to get to a sauna.  Saunas are a great way to boost your immunity. Saunas help you to create a fever-like effect in the body, which then helps your body kill off viruses and bacteria as well as detox all manner of toxins.

6. Lastly, I give myself some Reiki. Reiki is a gentle hands on healing art that anybody can do and learn.  It helps to redistribute the life force of the body so that the body can return to homeostasis and heal itself. Sometimes Reiki is all that I need to feel better.  It can literally shift the vibration so quickly. I run regular Reiki classes to teach anybody this gentle healing art.  I teach adults, teens and children now as well.  If you would like to learn more about that you can check out my website and see what classes are coming up in person or online at: www.rainbowsoulcollective.com/store

And with all these tips combined along with downing as much water with freshly squeezed lemon as possible, I kicked a recent cold in 2-3 days without it progressing into my system and becoming a long-term freight train sinus experience.

And I want the same for you.

Just get some of the basic remedies to have them on hand and I think you will feel a significant difference much earlier on.

May you have vibrant health now and in the future! Love, Grace
